Support, Information, and Community Referrals

Are you a victim of a crime or tragedy? If so, we can help. We assist residents of Fort Saskatchewan and surrounding areas, including Sturgeon County, Lamont, and Bruderheim by providing support, information, and community referrals.

Court Preparation and Accompaniment

Our team is committed to assisting you in your court appearances. From preparing your case to helping you get ready for your hearing, our team is here to help.

Victim Impact Statement

A victim impact statement gives you the chance to tell the court how you have been affected by a crime. It is up to you to decided if you want to complete one. 

Request for Restitution

Restitution is a way for the offender to repay you if you have lost money, property, or had extra expenses because of a crime. You have the right to have the court consider ordering restitution.

Families First Society  - 780-998-5595 

Families First is a non profit organization and their programs promote parenting and early childhood development. They also offer parent information, programs for young children to learn and play, family support services, as well as information and referral to other programs and services. 

  • Family Violence Prevention Program - 780-998-5595 ext.222

This program, offered by Families First Society, provides education, referrals, and support for anyone who has or is currently experiencing family violence.

  • Steadfast Connector - 780-998-5595 ext. 239

This program provides focused, personalized support with system navigation, accessing community resources and encouragement to help you reach your goals. 


Family and Community Support Services - 780-992-6281 

Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a partnership between the Province of Alberta and municipal governments. Under FCSS, municipalities design, deliver, an support prevention and intervention programs which foster the well-being of children adults, families, and the community. 

  • Counselling Program - 780-992-6267

Support is provided for a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, loss, martial and relationship issues, stress, family conflict, parenting challenges, self-esteem, and others. Counselling is offered on a sliding scale. 

  • Support Line - If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or just need to talk, you can contact their support line at 780-992-6281. 


Kids Help Phone - 1-800-668-6868 / text 686868

Kids Help Phone is Canada's only 24/7 national support service. They offer professional counselling, information and referrals, and volunteer-led, text-based support too young people in English and French. 


Alberta Heartland Primary Care Network - 780-997-0046

Their mental health therapists provide short term individual therapy treatment for many common mental concerns such as stress, anxiety, and depression for adults, youth, and children. The team also provides educational information sessions on various mental health topics. 


Sexual Assault

Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton Crisis (SACE) - 780-423-4121

SACE exists to support people impacted by sexual violence and engage communities to promote respect and uphold a culture of consent. They offer an extensive range of support services for people who experience sexual violence including crisis support, counselling, court support, and advocacy. 


SAFFRON Sexual Assault Centre - 780-499-0900 / 1-866-956-1099

Saffron Centre provides therapeutic one-to-one and group service to victims of trauma, abuse, and sexual violence. Their counselling programs on a sliding scale fee based on your income and workplace health care benefits. 

Shelters - Edmonton

Edmonton Women's Shelter Ltd. (W.I.N. House) - 780-479-0058

WIN House provides a safe place and emergency services for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. 


Lurana Shelter Society - 780-424-5875

Emergency shelter providing safe, secure refuge and emergency services such as food, clothing, transportation, and child support. 


Women's Emergency Accommodation Centre - 780-423-5302


SAGE, Edmonton Seniors Safe Housing Crisis - 780-702-1520

 The Seniors Safe House is for seniors over 60 who are leaving abusive situations.

Shelters - Sherwood Park

A Safe Place - 780-464-7233 / 1-877-252-7233

A Safe Place is a shelter for abused women and their children.
